Flights to the TRNC will start today from Turkish airlines.
Ercan Airport opened its doors on Wednesday after three months of remaining closed due to the coronavirus restrictions.
The main terminal building has been sprayed with disinfectants and arrangements have been made so that passengers can maintain social distancing.
Flights to and from Ercan airport had been temporarily suspended since March 22, 2020 as of part of measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Passengers arriving until July 1 will be quarantined for 14 days.
Different requirements will apply to passengers arriving as of July 1 depending on which country they arrive from.
The General Director of T&T Airport Services which operates Ercan Airport Serhat Özçelik said that all preparations were made to ensure the health and safety of all arriving and departing passengers.
He also pointed out that much needed repairs and maintenance on the airport runway had been completed during the lockdown period.
